Reed was a faculty instructor at the Second Latin American Natural Products Genome Mining Workshop at the Centro de Investigación en Matemáticas in Valenciana, Guanajuato, Mexico. This workshop engaged early-career researchers across Latin America interested in natural products, their regulation, and biosynthesis within an ecological context. The workshop also included seminars by international speakers and practical sessions on genome mining bioinformatic tools, while also addressing challenges and opportunities specific to Latin America, with content delivered primarily in English and some in Spanish. Other faculty and instructors included Paco Barona Gomez (Leiden University), Marc Chevrette (University of Florida), Lorena Fernández-Martínez (University of Glasgow), Paul Hoskisson (University of Strathclyde), L. Leticia Ramírez-Ramírez (CIMAT), Nelly Selem Mojica (UNAM), Paul Straight (Texas, A&M University), Cuauhtemoc Licona Cassani (Tecnológico de Monterrey), and Andrés Cumsille Montesinos (University of Florida).
Along with Marc Chevrette, Reed gave lectures on Natural Product Biosynthesis and on the Ecology and Evolution of Natural Products. He also presented a seminar on curent work in the laboratory.
